Feeling Cute: I got the blues...

My Look today was inspired by blog post from  One of my favorite blogs
Today I did a Blue Smokey Eye & paired it with a pair of darling blue sapphire earrings:
I primed my eye with:
Hardy Candy Eyeshadow Primer

For my base color I used:
Mac Eyeshadow in Carbon as my base color

The I the applied:
Blue On My Mind Baked Eyeshadow by Milani over the Mac Carbon Eyeshadow
(I LOVE THIS)
In the corners  of my eye I applied:
the silver color (bottom row 4th from the right) from my 32 piece Elf Palette
In the middle of my lid I applied
The Bright blue from the same palette (3rd row 1st shade on the right)

Then with my blending brush I took some more of the MAC carbon eyeshadow
and blended that into my crease

I lined my eyes with:
Black Radiance Gel Liner in Classic Black

(it isn't the best gel liner but it got the job done)

I then completed my look with Black Radiance's New Illusions Lip Gloss in Prismatic Color #3224

(I LOVE THIS COLOR AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT)

Then I used my absolute favorite mascara:
Rimmel of London Glam'Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara in Black

Hope this was helpful :)

My Nails Don't Care...

I have recently fallen in love with nail polish... these gloden glittery beauties make me smile! I used the following: Sally Hansen Double Duty strengthening Base & Top Coat then I applied Sinful Colors nail color in All About You #921. I applies the Sally Hansen first, then three light coats of the All About You did the trick, and then i finished off with another coat of the Sally Hansen.

Carol's Daughter Review II: Carol's Daughter's (2) My Hair (0)

Well I tried... and I failed ... again....lol. The results this time where not as bad as the first. I did everything the instructions said, and I am still not impressed.

I am open to suggestions... feedback... anything!

Your Life In The Natural Lane: Introducing... Ms. Crystal N.

First off let me just say this girl IS FABULOUS because she is one of those rare gems that is both beautiful on the inside and out!!!

How long have you been natural?
I have been natural for about 7 months now (last relaxer was May 8th

What made you want to go natural?
I noticed a major change in the texture and quality of my hair. Also I began to feel dependent on having chemicals in my hair and I didn't like that feeling.  I would look back on pictures and would see what my hair use to look like and after comparing the before and current I didn't like what I saw

What made you do the Big Chop opposed to Transitioning? (whichever one you did) I decided to do transition because my hair is very thick naturally and so I figured doing the big chop off leaving me with now THICK and NATURAL hair would put me in over my head and scare me out of natural altogether. Also for my transitioning would be easier for me especially as it concerned creating styles and managing and upkeep so it made more sense for me.

What was you initial reaction?
I am still only 7 months in so I still have some relaxer on the ends but its funny when I see my hair out or done, that being flat iron I realize that my hair looks the same or if not better without even putting a relaxer

What advice would you give someone new to the natural scene, that you wish someone would have told you?
I kinda knew this but at the same time I didnt... I didn't realize how much you have to maintain natural hair and you should do research on the best products for your "newly birthed" hair. Also you have to become very creative with styles and new looks.

What is one product you can not live without?
I havent settled on an exact product as of yet but I do know that I could not go without some sort of conditioner!

Who would you consider to be you natural inspiration?
I can honestly say that my motivation came from two co-workers of mine, one who had been natural for some time now and the other who had only been natural for a shorter period of time (that person being you TIFF!).
(awwwww lil ole me :-) )

Do you have hair regimen, and if you have one, what is it?
I dont have a regime just yet. I just ensure that with every wash I do a deep conditioner.

Have you changed from this experience?
I can say I pay much more attention to my hair through maintenance and upkeep and i'm learning to be more patient with it, in hopes of seeing the end result.

Do you have any regrets?
My only regret is that I didn't do this a long time ago.

Carol's Daughter Review

Well I tried... and I failed...lol.  This first go round using these product in my hair. My hair had the same BAD effect to the Black Vanilla Shampoo as it did when I used the Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner. My hair was very knotted and was making a weird snapping sound... it wasn't a good thing at all!!!

I will be trying to the Black Vanilla Herbal Shampoo one
more time. I will be using Khoret Amen Hair Oil & Khoret Amen Hair Smoothie until it's gone.

Not a fan of this Black Vanilla Shampoo...

I don't see me spending $10 on this for just 2oz, but I did look on the website and here is what they say "The Khoret Amen Hair Oil can also double as a weekly hot oil treatment. Simply apply to clean, damp hair, add a plastic cap and moderate heat. Leave on for 5-15 minutes and rinse for soft, shiny and super manageable strands."
I went on the Carol's Daughter website for "For deep conditioning, leave on for 5-15 minutes. Add a plastic cap and moderate heat for the most intense results." Upon further review I used this wrong the first time I was suppose to apply this before Shampooing

Your Life In The Natural Lane: Introducing... Ms. Lameka

First off let me just say I can say, she was reason I started toying with the idea of coloring my natural mane!!! (I am punk and still haven't done it...lol)

How long have you been natural?
I have been natural for 2 years

What made you want to go natural?
I always wanted to do it since i was young.  I finally decided i was done with relaxers after i had taken out some braids and saw how damaged my hair was and how thin it had become.  I wanted to have healthier hair without adding the chemicals.

What made you do the Big Chop opposed to Transitioning? (whichever one you did)
I transitioned for about 6 months then i did the big chop.  I was tired of trying to manage the 2 extremely different textures.

What was you initial reaction?
My first reaction was "OMG i dont have any hair".  I was shocked that it was so short but after about an hour or so and some earrings i was in love.  I felt empowered cause i actually went through with it and could start fresh with my hair.

What advice would you give someone new to the natural scene, that you wish someone would have told you?
Honestly, i feel like i was pretty well informed before making my decision. I researched like crazy lol.  There are so many resources to learn about natural hair.  I would say definitely research and you can most likely get any question answered out there on the world wide web.  The other curlies are so helpful :)

What is one product you can not live without?
Shea Butter, my hair loves it and desperately needs it.

Who would you consider to be you natural inspiration?
pictures from the 70's inspire me and Jill Scott (just love her fro)

Do you have hair regimen, and if you have one, what is it?
Lately i have been trying to enforce a regimen which consists of Co-washing with Curlz coconut sublime organic conditioner and i deep condition with Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque for about an hour or so. Sometimes i mix some olive oil in there too. When twisting my hair i use a small amount of Deep Treatment Masque and when im done i use Shea Moisture Strengthening Elixir to seal the ends.

Have you changed from this experience?
I believe i have changed to some degree.  With cutting off my relaxed hair, i feel i gained some sort of confidence.  I really did realize i am not my hair.

Do you have any regrets?
ABSOLUTELY no regrets! i love being natural and i wouldnt change a thing about it. :)
